Upgrades to Improve Safety and Reliability
Apex Utilities construction projects are part of a continuing program to revitalize AUI’s natural gas pipeline system. These projects involve the replacement of aging pipeline infrastructure installed over 50 years ago. Each year we undertake planned projects to enhance the reliability and safety of our natural gas system. Our replacement program is part of our commitment to continue to invest in the communities we serve.
The Apex Utilities System Betterment Program includes the replacement of PVC, Non-Certified Polyethylene, Pre-1957 Steel pipelines, and regulating stations. The program is a 30-year initiative to ensure the Apex Utilities system continues to provide safe and reliable service to Albertans.

Construction sites pose various hazards for the general public. Our employees and contractors make it their number one priority to protect the public. Construction sites are protected by barricading, fencing, and posting signage to prevent entrance of unauthorized personnel. For your safety, please do not enter our construction sites.
